    Iemand een idee waarom de koers aan het eind zo opliep? Lage omzet, maar nog 300k stukken in de eindveiling en daar nog een stujging van 5ct. Ontwikkelingen in Brazilie, of een kleine short cover?

    The Libra consortium (Petrobras, Shell, Total, CNPC and CNOOC) remarked for April 4 the delivery date of the rebid proposals for the charter of the FPSO Pilot to be installed in the project. By judicial decision, the rebid can be resumed only until the pre-signing contract phase.

    Federal judge Néviton Guedes, of the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region, released the bidding on Friday, conditioning the non-signing of the contract until the ANP concludes the analysis of the FPSO waiver request. The public hearing to discuss the waiver application will be held on April 18.
    Concerned about the delays that already jeopardize the schedule of the first oil, originally foreseen for 2020, and under threat of new lawsuits, Petrobras guarantees that it will not postpone the delivery date of the proposals.

    Zoals ik het lees:
    Petrobras wil nu opschieten, maar er vindt in ieder geval geen contractondertekening plaats vòòr uitsluitsel over de waiver (heeft met local content van doen dacht ik).
    Dit lijkt mij niet persé gunstig voor SBM maar voordat dat uitsluitsel van het ANP er komt zijn we waarschijnlijk weer een paar maanden verder.

    Helaas heeft die het niet meer voor het zeggen en is wat er nu zit vele malen corrupter.

    We komen zo langzamerhand dichter bij midden 2017. Sealion en Liza. Kijk dan eens naar de gepubliceerde koersdoelen van analisten. Dit kan nog lelijk uit de klauwen lopen als beide projecten een positieve FID krijgen. Was het niet Verbiesen (of die knaap van NIBC) die een koers van boven de 20 een kans gaf bij positieve FID voor beide contracten?
    Ik blijf nog even hangen.

    De bouw van de Turritella FPSO en bijbehorende Turret ging achteraf gezien niet helemaal soepel. Turritella was de eerste in zijn ultra-diepwater-FPSO-soort die kan draaien en afkoppelen.

    Dat iets nieuws altijd leermomenten met zich mee brengt, is te verwachten.
    Alleen wat genant als andere bronnen vertellen waar het niet direkt goed ging.
    Dat had ik dan liever van SBM Offshore zelf vernomen ;

    In terms of quality, there were three major issues, he says - the upper turret welding, engine failure during sea trials, and leaks in the methanol system on start up.

    “We did the safety goal up-front, but we didn’t do that with quality. I think if we had done that, we would have had better results on quality,”

    Design issues - eventually got it on paper

    “There were a lot of design issues we were solving throughout 2013. Eventually we got it on paper,” he says.

    Shell provided “shadow engineering” on the buoy and offered its feedback from a “different set of eyes” to SBM to achieve better conclusions and results with the buoy system design.

    The Turret, a quality issue - found and fixed

    In October 2014, the lower turret was fitted into the top of the buoy. “The dimensional tolerance for this was within a finger width,” Moore says. “This was a key test. Would it fit?”

    It did. There was, however, a quality issue with the upper turret welds, which caused some delays.“The turret was on the critical path,” he says. “We found the issue, fixed it and got it in place.”

    FPSO, an engine problem. Found and fixed

    The FPSO left the quayside in October 2015 for sea trials, which revealed an engine problem. That was repaired

    Overall zijn alle partijen zeer tevreden met het resultaat, en dat is voor het unieke concept van de Turritella FPSO een prachtige stap voorwaarts.
    En een visitekaartje voor SBM Offshore. Leerpunten uitwerken en meenemen naar de toekomst.
    ... maar zorg er de volgende keer aub wel voor dat je zelf -of samen met je klant- de leermomenten belicht. Dat komt net even iets anders over, dan dat het over je wordt verteld ...

    De titel is overigens een uitstekende weergave van het overall resultaat ;

    Hallo ff,

    tijd om het eens NIET met je eens te zijn :-)

    1 Upper turret welding possible problems:
    A "major" problem would have been if they had used correctly the wrong welding procedure for primary steel. If that had been the case, they still would not be in production.
    Major would also have been improper grinding of fatigue loaded welds, but this is easy to solve.
    Major would also be a welder who was not properly certified, easy to solve.
    Major would also have been improperly treated consumables or other variables, with luck, also easy to solve. A verbally, or written major problem does not have to be a major practical problem.
    As he isn't very specific, I may be wrong. As they are in production and without delays, I do not think that I'm wrong.

    2 engine "failure":
    Why do they have sea trials? Everything will have been commissioned, tested and proven in use before sea trials. So it's a final check and it's not uncommon that small issues arise at that time. He states they repaired it and that was it. By the way, he does not state "engine failure", that's what you make of it, he stated: "...., which revealed an engine problem", which may have been a little issue like an incorrectly calibrated part.

    3 Leaks in the methanol system:
    This is an issue that should have been noted during commissioning, but during commissioning they had not yet been at sea with all the external forces applied. Methanol piping mostly is of stainless steel, small diameters and thin. Probably some gaskets that hadn't been re-tightened. No big practical problem. But very well done that they took the time to run through the whole system upon startup.

    You make it sound worse than it (probably) really was and I can very well imagine that SBMO did not find it even remotely necessary to mention these items.

    Mr Blake (of Blake Consultants) is maybe a bit of a sensationalist, maybe he needs a new job (?) and therefore talks to Upstream?

    Been there, done that, don't try to swindle a swindler. :-)

    Voor de derde keer terug van rond de 14,00. Mooi.
    Ik las ook dat Züricher Insurance geld gaat ophalen. Dat zal ongetwijfeld te maken hebben met aanstaand uitsluitsel over de €1 miljard SBM-claim :-)

    Zeker mooi Chela! Weet je toevallig wat de laatste stand mbt de claim is? Ik heb er niets meer over gelezen.
    Ik verwacht dat we weer terug over de 15 gaan deze week.
    Marshall zal ook wel weer 0,03 moeten coveren om de jojo in stand te houden ;-)

    Ik zie op korte termijn eigenlijk weinig triggers voor een doorbraak naar boven.
    Premies korte calls schrijven vind ik ook niet echt aantrekkelijk.
    Dividend zal ingeprijsd zijn.

    Ik heb hier half februari een vraag over gesteld aan Bert-Jaap Dijkstra. Ik kreeg toen het volgende antwoord:

    'Er is geen nieuws over de claim –evt arbitrage zou plaatsvinden, start in Oct 2018 waarbij we geen nieuws verwachten voor het voorjaar van 2019 tenzij een settlement voor die tijd plaatsvindt'.

    Dus voor voorjaar 2019 verwachten ze geen nieuws.
