Victor(y) and the other heroes at Saab. But GM is out of business!October 29, 2011, at 23:21 Written by Robert CollinWell then, it is clear that one can blame Victor Muller too much. And as good Swedes do it. (I get so tired.)But one thing is certain: Without Muller Saab had been away two years ago.
It is he and he alone who has given Saab the artificial respiration as needed to reach today's agreement.
Then, if that's enough, that's another thing.
General Motors is currently working with Chinese SAIC to build a brand new Chinese car brand, based on old technology from Opel. Why would GM think it's a good idea in principle the same technique used by Youngman?
According to data Bilbloggen has, GM has written a 150-page list of demands on everything Youngman and Saab must satisfy in order to build cars in China. There are too many demands. So - impossible!
Saab talks a lot about his new Phoenix platform that all new Saab will be built. Well, it looks good. But 50 percent is still GM. And GM says will almost certainly reject Youngman's plans.
The immediate future looks probably like this: The National Debt Office and the EIB says yes to the deal, but GM says no. And when it falls.
But - more important time is saved. Then Victor Muller, as usual with his Plan B. Then Youngman is replaced by the U.S. finance company North Street Capital while Pang Da remains.
This allows Saab to continue building cars in Trollhattan, the current technologies (9-3 and 9-5) and 9-4X in Mexico and, eventually, from 2014, on its new platform Phoenix.
And Pang Da can sell cars in China.
Another reptrick by Victor Muller. We will not count him out or Saab.
Finally, sad news: Saab production manager Gunnar Brunius stops!
According to Bilbloggen he goes to Volvo. And he takes his next one with him.
Yes, this is a huge blow to Saab. Brunius is the one who stood with both feet on the ground when Victor Muller flown around it.
It is Brunius which ensured that the wounded Saab not fallen to pieces. It is he who could have started production with a few days notice, which made sure that nothing is rusted.
