    Routeplanners en navigatie-apps moeten straten met scholen gaan vermijden in hun kortste en snelste routes. Op die manier kan onnodig verkeersgevaar voor kinderen voorkomen worden, vindt de ChristenUnie in de Tweede Kamer.

    "Tegenwoordig gebruiken we allemaal Waze, Google Maps en TomTom", zegt Kamerlid Stieneke van der Graaf. "Ontzettend handig, maar er zit ook een keerzijde aan. Tijdens de spits in file langs een basisschool rijden kan tot gevaarlijke situaties leiden."

    Ze wil dat verkeersminister Van Nieuwenhuizen (VVD) met de Vlaamse minister Ben Weyts optrekt, die in gesprek is met de bedrijven die de apps ontwikkelen. Van der Graaf: "Het kost misschien een minuutje langer, maar is een stuk veiliger.

    Ze doet haar voorstel vandaag in het Kamerdebat over verkeersveiligheid.

    With the clocks going back an hour across Europe and the USA and the nights drawing in very quickly, this is the ideal time to focus on road safety. Every year, 350,000 children around the world are killed by road traffic – and for every death, there is another life-changing disability. In Europe, children under 10 years are the age group with the highest percentage of pedestrian fatalities. Although all children are vulnerable, it seems some are more at risk than others. For example, in the United Kingdom, twice as many boys are likely to be killed or seriously injured than girls in the same 5-11 year age group. Similarly, in the Netherlands, 64% of traffic victims under 14 years are boys.

    This is echoed by statistics in Germany where they have been linked to a general tendency amongst boys to take more risks. However, the overall risk is higher depending on the time of day – on the way to or from school and in the afternoon when children are outside playing. Accordingly, more accidents happen on weekdays and in particular on Fridays, when commuter traffic builds up earlier towards the weekend. Speed restrictions in urban areas significantly reduce the likelihood of accidents.

    Het lijkt er op dat Diegy een alter ego gebruikt. Of is het toevallig dat hij na 5 november niet meer post hier.
    Daarvoor in de plaats zien we nu Joshua3, die net na 5 november op dezelfde manier te werk gaat. Ik bespaar jullie de uitleg, want die is opvallend genoeg.

    Valt verder niet op hoor, dus ik ga maar uit van toeval, want ook ik kan me vergissen.

    In het PB dat AND uitgaf op 6 nov. j.l. 'vergat' men de optie die nu wordt aangedragen.
    AND hint op o.m. op snelheidsverlaging, waar ik in m'n reactie toen negatief op reageerde.

    De optie die vanuit de overheid wordt aangedragen is wel een goede! (Omrijden.)
