   Q4 2011 results
   
   Revenue
   Brunel realised Q4 revenue of € 291 million, an increase of 36% compared to 2010. Brunel Energy realised the largest increase (+47%) compared to last year, followed by Germany (+26%) and The Netherlands (+9%). The main driver for the growth in Energy are the offshore projects in Australia.
   
   As a result of the varying growth rates, the revenue mix has changed. Whereas The Netherlands, Germany and Energy accounted for respectively 14%, 14% and 70% of Q4 2011 revenue, these percentages were 18%, 15% and 65% in Q4 2010.
   
   
   Gross Profit
   Q4 2011 gross profit amounts to € 55.1 million, an increase of 21% compared to 2010. The gross margin was 18.9% which is down 2.4 ppt compared to last year. The decrease in gross margin is caused
   in equal measure by two fewer working days in Europe and the increased share of Energy offshore project revenue.
   
   
   Operating Expenses
   The Q4 operating expenses amount to € 35 million, up 15% compared to Q4 2010. Excluding the € 2 million one-off social security costs included last year, the operating expenses increased by 23%. The increase is mainly attributable to the increased number of commercial, recruitment and business support employees in the operating entities which increased from 1,082 FTEs per the end of 2010 to 1,254 FTEs at the end of 2011.
   
   
   EBIT
   Q4 EBIT increased by 53% to € 20 million. Adjusted for € 4 million one-off charges, € 2 million social security costs and € 2 million other expenses included in Q4 2010, the increase amounts to 18%.

   AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Detacheringsbedrijf Brunel heeft in het vierde kwartaal een hoger dan verwachte omzet en bedrijfsresultaat geboekt, vooral dankzij zeer sterke groei bij Energy.
   
   Het bedrijfsresultaat, of de winst voor aftrek van rente en belastingen (EBIT) steeg met 53% naar EUR20,1 miljoen, van EUR13,1 miljoen in het vierde kwartaal van 2010. Het cijfer overtreft de verwachtingen van vijf analisten, die gemiddeld rekenden op een EBIT van EUR19,1 miljoen.
   
   De omzet steeg met 36% tot EUR291 miljoen, van EUR214 miljoen een jaar eerder. Het omzetcijfer ligt ruim boven de verwachting van de analisten, die rekenden op EUR259 miljoen.
   
   Het bedrijf zegt positief te zijn over de activiteiten in Europa, ondanks de onzekere economische situatie. Voor 2012 voorziet Brunel aanhoudende groei voor de energiedivisie, hoewel die groei deels zal afhangen van de timing van de afronding van enkele projecten en startdata van nieuwe projecten.
   
   Voor het hele bedrijf rekent Brunel op een omzetgroei van tenminste 10% in 2012.
   
   De sterke omzetstijging in het vierde kwartaal is vooral te danken aan een sterke groei van 47% bij Brunel Energy, waar een recordomzet van EUR202 miljoen wordt gehaald met offshore-projecten in Australie. Daarnaast was er groei in Zuidoost-Azie en de Amerika's.
   
   In Duitsland steeg de omzet 26%. In Nederland groeide de omzet veel minder sterk, met 9%.
   
   De brutomarge daalde naar 19% van 21%, doordat er afgelopen kwartaal minder werkdagen waren en door een wijziging van de omzetmix.
   
   Over het hele jaar boekte Brunel een EBIT-groei van 72% tot EUR64,4 miljoen, bij een omzetgroei van 36% tot EUR980 miljoen.
   
   Het aandeel Brunel eindigde donderdag op EUR30,21.
