    Had je post gezien over LUM en DFR. Ik kwam er niet helemaal uit welke ik nou ging kopen. Heb ze niet gekocht. Jammer want DFR had je voor onder de dollar op kunnen pakken toen.     Zie wel dat het gebruikelijk is de laatste dagen dat DFR ongeveer 15% tot 20% onder de dag hoog kan sluiten.

    Ik wacht nog even. Had anders toch al eerder in willen stappen en dan had ik nu uit moeten stappen.

    Let the big sell start! Howard Amster owns a group which invests in buying mortgages and real estate. Mark Schaefer from Shamrock Capital also invests in mortgages. Kelly Capital will also want a cut, maybe the bank. We will see a lot of sale from now on. Read this about servicing rights. The more they sell, the less capital commitments they have. Service mortgages requires a lot of capital. As you guys know, FMT services 15 billion in mortgages but this mortgages are not in the books. With the increased defaults, the best thing for FMT is to get out of the servicing business. The 60 day deadline is both good and bad, good because we will see actions, bad because it puts FMT on a loss position because they can't negotiate prices. Read how the servicing mortgages works:

    De-Fault Line

    A bad mortgage loan is an expensive prospect for servicers. Here is the typical procedure followed:

    * Day 1-29: Mortgage is late.

    Past due notices are sent out.

    * Day 30-90: Mortgage payment is delinquent.

    Servicer steps up mailings and begins to make late-payments to mortgage backed-securities investors to cover the loss.

    * Day 90-200: Foreclosure.

    Servicer issues notice of foreclosure and must pay as much as 5 percent of legal fees, and starts to make bookkeeping adjustments reflecting the increased chances fees will not be collected.

    * Day 200-400: Resale.

    Now that foreclosure proceedings are over, the servicer takes possession of the house and incurs maintenance, insurance and tax costs as interim owner.

    * Liquidation.

    Now that the servicer has sold the property and incurs final transaction costs, the servicer is first in line to collect proceeds and be reimbursed for all costs except interest on principal payments, additional labor and correspondence.

    Mass. AG gets expanded injunction against Fremont

    Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley's office said Tuesday it has obtained an expanded preliminary injunction order against Fremont Investment & Loan.

    Coakley's office maintains that Fremont engaged in risky loan-selling practices that significantly contributed to the foreclosure crisis in the state of Massachusetts.

    The expanded injunction prohibits Fremont from assigning or selling Massachusetts loans owned by Fremont, or the servicing obligations on those loans, unless the buyer agrees in writing to be bound by the obligations set forth in a preliminary injunction, which was issued February 25.

    "We are pleased that the Court has held Fremont accountable for the unfair loans it originated in Massachusetts," said Attorney General Coakley, in a prepared statement. "This decision reflects that lenders cannot escape responsibility for their illegal conduct and contribution to the foreclosure crisis simply by selling off their loans or servicing rights."

    Fremont Investment & Loan is the main subsidiary of Brea's Fremont General Corp. (NYSE: FMT).
