   Synopsis: ABB has been awarded a contract to install its ArcSave® electromagnetic stirrer at Çolakoglu Metalurji in Turkey, improving efficiency and sustainability in the production of steel. The installation on one of the world’s largest electric arc furnaces will support the steelmaker’s commitment to technological innovation and environmental goals.

   ABB has secured a groundbreaking order from Çolakoglu Metalurji A.S. to install its advanced ArcSave® electromagnetic stirrer technology on one of the largest electric arc furnaces in the world. This cutting-edge installation is set to improve efficiency, sustainability, and operational safety at Çolakoglu's steel plant, solidifying the company’s leadership in advanced steel production.
   
   The electromagnetic stirrer, which will be installed on a 370-metric ton capacity EAF, the largest of its kind in Türkiye, will enhance the production of various carbon steel products such as slabs, hot rolled steel coils, billets, and reinforcing steel bars. The EAF is provided by Primetals Technologies and, with the integration of ABB’s technology, will undergo a comprehensive revamp. The new EMS will significantly boost the furnace’s performance, enabling the plant to meet growing demands for high-quality steel while optimizing resources.
