    NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- ArcelorMittal (MT - Get Report) shares are dropping by 4.34% to $3.31 on Wednesday, after Jefferies slashed its rating on the stock to "underweight" from "hold" earlier this morning.

    The firm also lowered its price target to $3 from $6.

    Analysts cited exposure to import pressures and O&G markets as reasons for the rating change.

    Overall, Chinese steel demand has dropped by 8% over the past two years after reaching a peak in 2013.

    "Arcelor Mittal continues to trade at roughly stagnant multiples, despite being the worst Euro sector performer of 2015, as deteriorating earnings and FCF trends put consensus earnings/valuation estimates at risk," analysts noted.

    The Luxembourg-based company operates as an integrated steel mining company worldwide.

    Recently, TheStreet Ratings objectively rated this stock according to its "risk-adjusted" total return prospect over a 12-month investment horizon. Not based on the news in any given day, the rating may differ from Jim Cramer's view or that of this articles's author. TheStreet Ratings has this to say about the recommendation:

    We rate ARCELORMITTAL SA as a Sell with a ratings score of D. This is driven by multiple weaknesses, which we believe should have a greater impact than any strengths, and could make it more difficult for investors to achieve positive results compared to most of the stocks we cover. The company's weaknesses can be seen in multiple areas, such as its deteriorating net income, disappointing return on equity, poor profit margins, weak operating cash flow and generally high debt management risk.

    Highlights from the analysis by TheStreet Ratings Team goes as follows:
    -The company, on the basis of change in net income from the same quarter one year ago, has significantly underperformed when compared to that of the S&P 500 and the Metals & Mining industry. The net income has significantly decreased by 3331.8% when compared to the same quarter one year ago, falling from $22.00 million to -$711.00 million.
    -The company's current return on equity has slightly decreased from the same quarter one year prior. This implies a minor weakness in the organization. Compared to other companies in the Metals & Mining industry and the overall market on the basis of return on equity, ARCELORMITTAL SA underperformed against that of the industry average and is significantly less than that of the S&P 500.
    -The gross profit margin for ARCELORMITTAL SA is currently extremely low, coming in at 8.67%. It has decreased from the same quarter the previous year.
    -Net operating cash flow has declined marginally to $473.00 million or 5.58% when compared to the same quarter last year. Despite a decrease in cash flow ARCELORMITTAL SA is still fairing well by exceeding its industry average cash flow growth rate of -25.57%.
    -MT's debt-to-equity ratio of 0.61 is somewhat low overall, but it is high when compared to the industry average, implying that the management of the debt levels should be evaluated further. Even though the debt-to-equity ratio shows mixed results, the company's quick ratio of 0.41 is very low and demonstrates very weak liquidity.

    Wat een ge-OH. Gewoon gezonde verstand gebruiken. Koers is te laag en is geen reflectie van de werkelijke gang van zaken. Het is best mogelijk dat de koers blijft dalen tot de update van AM maar een dezer dagen stappen de grote jongens massaal in. Degenen die dicht bij het vuur zitten het eerst. Koop de dips!

    koop dips... nog ff!!

    het is al jaren de een na andere dip bij AM

    welke arme belegger kan dat volhouden

    als je bij 10 begonnen bent met middelen dan ben je nu zo een beetje leeg lijkt mij...

    Knap dat je positief blijft maar als ik slot VS zie vrees ik het ergste morgen.
    Zowel voor de AM beleggers als de andere beleggers alleen de shorts lachen morgen weer denk ik.

    Gezien de felheid van de dalingen( iedere keer als de yanks opengaan )verwacht ik dat ze dit aandeel uiteindelijk volledig willen slopen.
    Morgen in ieder geval eerst een zware daling (vanavond geen herstel US geweest) tot ruim onder de drie euro, dan bij opening US wat herstel.
    Hedgefunds bloedlijers zullen ervoor zoren dat de opening al direkt onder de drie komt te liggen ,stops worden dan direkt getriggerd waardoor zooitje verder zakt.
