Premaitha Application To Put Debtor Genoma Into Bankruptcy Successful
LONDON (Alliance News) – Premaitha Health PLC said Friday its application for Swiss customer Genoma SA to be placed into bankruptcy for non-payment of debts has been successful.
The official Swiss commercial register has confirmed the ruling in favour of Premaitha’s application. Premaitha said that while it still anticipates making a full provision of GBP750,000 for the debts owed in its full-year accounts to March 31, it will “vigorously” pursue options to recover the debt or equivalent assets.
Premaitha also said it believes the bankruptcy presents a commercial opportunity to sell to the Swiss and European customer base which were using its IONA prenatal test, but which Genoma had been converting to its own in-house product.
Genoma has a short period in which to appeal the ruling, said Premaitha.
“The Swiss court ruling to place Genoma into bankruptcy is a positive development in an otherwise unfortunate situation as it will now accelerate our pursuit of the recovery of this debt in various possible forms,” said Stephen Little, chief executive of Premaitha.
Shares in Premaitha Health were up 0.2% at 10.52 pence Friday.
