    Topman Mark Heine zei positief te zijn over de rest van het jaar, door aanhoudende groei bij offshore wind en olie en gas, met aantrekkende prijzen. Wel bevindt de markt zich volgens hem nog in een 'recovery mode'. Heine verklaarde verder dat Fugro nog steeds kijkt naar alle strategische opties voor het samenwerkingsverband Seabed Geosolutions dat het bedrijf heeft met de Franse branchegenoot CGG.

    Seabed Geosolutions announces its first contract with CGG to provide multi-client ocean bottom node (OBN) survey acquisition services in the Mississippi Canyon area of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

    The 3D node project will utilise Seabed Geosolutions’ advanced 4C technology CASE Abyss® ocean bottom nodes, deployed by remotely operated vehicles to 2,100 meter water depths, illuminating a challenging target area in one of the deepest offshore production areas in the world.

    This project is evidence that OBN technology is being increasingly used for multi-client seismic surveys, further growing the market and commercial opportunities for this technology.

    Stephan Midenet, CEO, Seabed Geosolutions: ‘We are excited to embark on our first OBN project with CGG over the highly prospective Mississippi Canyon area using our proven CASE Abyss node technology. The survey will combine our expertise in ocean bottom seismic operations with CGG’s advanced OBN imaging technology and experience.’

    CGG annonce le démarrage de sa première étude multi-clients en fond de mer (Ocean Bottom Nodes - OBN) basée sur la technologie d'acquisition à partir de nodes pour faire évoluer sa bibliothèque de données multi-clients à un niveau de qualité supérieur.

    Le groupe de géosciences explique que cette étude dans la partie nord du centre du Golfe du Mexique permettra d'obtenir des images exceptionnelles des structures géologiques complexes de cette région du Mississippi Canyon grâce au déploiement de nodes.

    L'acquisition des données sera réalisée par Seabed Geosolutions. Les données seront ensuite traitées dans le centre CGG Géosciences de Houston. Les premières images devraient être disponibles au troisième trimestre 2019 et les images finales au premier trimestre 2020.

    -Cette étude multi-clients bien préfinancée par ses clients constitue une référence pour les prochaines études multi-clients CGG en fond de mer.

    CGG is pleased to announce commencement of its first multi-client ocean bottom node (OBN) survey, taking CGG’s offshore data library to the next level of excellence. Located in the north-central region of the Gulf of Mexico, this dense OBN survey will provide well-sampled, full azimuthal coverage with long offsets, to deliver exceptional data for imaging the geologically complex structures in Mississippi Canyon.

    Acquisition services are being provided by Seabed Geosolutions and the data will be processed by CGG Geoscience’s Subsurface Imaging in Houston. Implementation of CGG’s most advanced OBN processing techniques will provide a fine-tuned velocity model and improved definition of drilling targets. Preliminary products will be available in Q3 2019, and final products are expected in Q1, 2020.

    Supported by industry prefunding, CGG’s Mississippi Canyon Node survey paves the way for further CGG multi-client OBN surveys in the future.

    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) Seabed Geosolutions, een joint venture van Fugro en CCG, gaat de Mississippi Canyon in de Amerikaanse Golf van Mexico in kaart brengen. Dit meldde de Nederlandse bodemonderzoeker dinsdag.
    De financiële details worden niet vermeld. De driedimensionale kaart zal worden gemaakt aan de hand van knooppunten of 'nodes' waarvan de exacte locatie op de zeebodem wordt vastgesteld.
