   Minister: Russische oliestromen naar Slowakije worden hervat
   
   De Russische aanvoer van olie via de Droezjba-oliepijpleiding naar Slowakije wordt woensdag hervat. Dat zei de Slowaakse minister van Economie Richard Sulik tijdens een persconferentie.
   
   Vorige week besloot het Oekraïense olietransportbedrijf Ukrtransnafta de aanvoer via de Droezjba-oliepijpleiding te stoppen. Die leiding loopt vanuit Rusland via Oekraïne naar Hongarije, Slowakije en Tsjechië. Volgens de minister werd de onderbreking veroorzaakt doordat een westerse bank vanwege de sancties tegen Rusland weigerde een door Rusland aan Oekraïne betaalde doorvoervergoeding te verwerken.
   
   De Russische beheerder van de pijpleiding Transneft zou Ukrtransnafta hebben betaald, maar kreeg het geld een week later teruggestort. Volgens Transneft kwam dat omdat nationale overheden grensoverschrijdende betalingen vanuit Rusland moeten goedkeuren.
   
   Het contract tussen Transneft en Ukrtransnafta vereist 100 procent vooruitbetaling voor de doorvoer van olie. Raffinaderijen uit Slowakije en Hongarije hebben inmiddels aangeboden de betalingen rechtstreeks aan Ukrtransnafta te doen om het geschil op te lossen.
   
   Volgens de Slowaakse minister heeft Oekraïne verklaard dat er weer olie wordt aangevoerd door het zuidelijke deel van de pijpleiding zodra het land het geld heeft ontvangen van Slovnaft voor de doorvoer van de olie. Ook de grootste raffinaderij van Hongarije, Mol Nyrt, zegt de vergoeding voor het gebruik van het Oekraïense deel van de pijpleiding te hebben overgemaakt. Volgens het Russische staatspersbureau RIA heeft ook Transneft verklaard dat er woensdag weer olie zal stromen door het zuidelijke deel van de pijpleiding.

   Putin the Powerless: The Russian Military Is Slowly Dying in Ukraine
   
   The Russian military keeps losing great numbers of men and materiel every day, making its work harder as the war progresses.
   
   The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense claimed that as of Tuesday, Ukrainian forces have killed approximately 42,640 Russian troops (and wounded approximately thrice that number), destroyed 223 fighter, attack, and transport jets, 192 attack and transport helicopters, 1,817 tanks, 964 artillery pieces, 4,076 armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, 261 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS), 15 boats and cutters, 2,998 vehicles and fuel tanks, 133 anti-aircraft batteries, 757 tactical unmanned aerial systems, 87 special equipment platforms, such as bridging vehicles, and four mobile Iskander ballistic missile systems, and 185 cruise missiles shot down by the Ukrainian air defenses.
   
   30 Days of Almost Nothing
   
   In its daily estimate of the war, the British Ministry of Defense focused on the sluggish Russian campaign in the Donbas.
   
   Over the last 30 days, the Russian forces have advanced at most about six miles in certain sectors on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine. In others, they have failed to advance at all, or their gains are so small (less than two miles, for example) as to be inconsequential.
   
   “Over the weekend, Russia has continued to focus efforts on reinforcing defences in southern Ukraine. Despite the shift in effort, Russia has maintained attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donetsk oblast,” the British Military Intelligence assessed.
   
   “Over the last 30 days, Russia’s assault towards the town of Bakhmut has been its most successful axis in the Donbas; however, Russia has only managed to advance about 10km during this time,” the British Ministry of Defense stated.
   
   “In other Donbas sectors where Russia was attempting to break through, its forces have not gained more than 3km during this 30 day period; almost certainly significantly less than planned,” the British Ministry of Defense added.
   
   “Despite its continued heavy use of artillery in these areas, Russia has not been able to generate capable combat infantry in sufficient numbers to secure more substantial advances,” the British Military Intelligence assessed.
   
   Meanwhile, in the south, the Ukrainian military is focusing its long-range strikes on transportation infrastructures, such as bridges, ammunition depots, command and control posts, and rail links, to make the life of the Russian forces in Kherson more challenging by restricting their resupply.
   
   The Ukrainian forces have been particularly focusing on the railroad that links Kherson with Crimea, which the Russian military has turned into a fortress since its illegal annexation in 2014.

   In August 2022, CBS released its documentary on military aid to Ukraine, filmed in April.
   
   The film claims that a major portion of Western military help goes missing in Ukraine but provides no proof other than short remarks from one volunteer, Jonas Ohman, founder and CEO of Blue-Yellow, a Lithuanian organization that provides voluntary non-lethal aid to Ukraine.
   
   We reached out to Jonas Ohman to ask for his full opinion on arms supplies to Ukraine beyond CBS cuts. Other film manipulations are also addressed here in this article.

   Claim 1: CBS claimed a large part of military aid disappears, quoting Ohman out of context: “30% of it reaches its final destination.”
   
   Reality: According to Ohman, all military aid is divided among Ukraine’s units, but only 30% went directly to the frontline as of April, while the rest went to other units or have yet to reach the frontline. When asked, Ohman said
   
   “No, I never meant that some aid was stolen or disappeared. These are words taken out of context. I did not say that and I did not mean that. I said that the efficiency of the support mechanism at that point, in the second month of the war [in April] was maybe 30-40% of what I would like to see.”
   
   “I can give you an example. I know that in many cases aid was not supplied to people directly on the frontline but to other units. There were distribution issues, problems within the system of distribution, problems with logistics. Of course, everybody needs it but who should receive first?”
   
   “That’s my assessment from a point sitting in a car three months ago. I don’t have full access to the full situation but know some things from my work with the military.”

The Kremlin’s demand that Ukraine recognize Crimea as part of Russia has been one of its key conditions for ending the hostilities, but Ukraine has vowed to drive the Russians from the peninsula and all other occupied territories.

   In de jaren negentig heeft de NAVO geweld gebruikt in voormalig Joegoslavië. Hierbij werd onder meer een grote hoeveelheid clustermunitie gebruikt. En er vond genocide van moslimjongens en -mannen plaats in Srebrenica door Bosnisch-Servische troepen.

   Wie vergiftigt de rattentsaar Putler, wie brengt de paardenkop Lavrov naar het slachthuis en wie zet Sjojgoe voor het vuurpeloton ?

    More Russian Casualties in Ukraine Than U.S. Troops in Revolutionary War
    
    Pentagon official has given a "ballpark" figure of Russia's casualties since it started the war in Ukraine on February 24, in a sign of the high cost of Vladimir Putin's invasion of his own forces.
    
    Colin Kahl, the Department of Defense undersecretary for policy, said at a briefing on Monday: "It's safe to suggest that the Russians have probably taken 70 or 80,000 casualties in less than six months," adding, "That is a combination of killed in action and wounded in action and that number might be a little lower, a little higher, but I think that's kind of in the ballpark."
    
    He described the number of Russian casualties as "remarkable" given that Russia's forces have "achieved none of Vladimir Putin's objectives" since invading Ukraine.
    
    If Kahl's figures are confirmed, this would mean that in only six months, Russia would have suffered more casualties than the United States did during the Revolutionary War, which was fought over eight years, between April 19, 1775, to September 3, 1783.
    
    The total number of U.S. casualties in the conflict that secured American independence from Great Britain is estimated to be around 66,000, according to historian John Shy's 1976 book, A People Numerous and Armed: Reflections on the Military Struggle for American Independence. These include the wounded, as well as combat and non-combat deaths, which also comprised of those who died of disease.
    
    Kahl's latest estimate is a significant jump from other recent U.S. government assessments. In July, CIA Director Bill Burns said the Russians had suffered about 60,000 casualties, including 15,000 troops killed in action. This suggests that if Kahl is correct, Ukraine managed to inflict more than 10,000 casualties on the Russians in the last month.
    
    During this time, Kyiv has lauded the delivery of new multiple rocket systems from the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Germany.
    
    Among the weapons are the U.S-supplied M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) which have made a big contribution to Ukraine's war effort by targeting Russian command centers and ammunition depots.
    
    The number of Russian casualties in the war has not been independently verified. In its latest estimate on Wednesday, Ukraine's military estimates that 42,800 Russian troops had been killed in combat, although this is nearly triple what Western officials have stated. Moscow has not updated its death toll released at the end of March which stood at 1,351.
    
    However, military experts have said that the Kremlin was not suffering enough troop losses to impact its ability to hold terrain, even as Ukraine undertakes a counteroffensive on Kherson in the southwest of the country.
    
    Meanwhile, Russia's casualty estimate is likely to include Russian paramilitary and volunteer forces, like the mercenary Wagner Group, according to Rob Lee, a fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
    
    "Otherwise, the Russian military could not withstand that kind of casualty rate and still be fighting," he told Foreign Policy.
    
    Kahl also said on Monday that the Ukrainian side had suffered severe casualty numbers in what he described as the "most intense conventional conflict in Europe since the Second World War."
    
    "But the Ukrainians have a lot of advantages, not the least of which is their will to fight," he added.

    Ja hallo. Een situatie waarop er op de hele wereld geen enkel conflict is gedurende een decennium, is denk ik geen haalbare kaart, zolang mensen mensen zijn is er altijd ergens wel een idioot die zijn macht misbruikt.
    De algemene tijdsgeest in de jaren 90 was er wel 1 van alles gaat goed etc etc. Dus vergeleken met nu wel behoorlijk koek en ei.

    Ik las dat de Russen in de maand juli maximaal 10 km hebben veroverd, en andere gebieden 3 km. Dat is dan 36 km per jaar, betekent, dat ze nog jaren nodig hebben om de westgrens van Oekraïne te bereiken.
    
    Maar de opsomming van Josti geeft wel aan wat een verschrikking ze aanbrengen, naast al die pleintjes en speeltuinen.

    Je leest bron van de berichten blijkbaar niet eens.
    Ze komen vrijwel uitsluitend van de General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine...
