In Tsjechië botsten een paar wagen van het konvooi op elkaar wat voor vertraging van de Patriots naar Slowakije zorgde
The Dutch Patriot missile unit arrived in Slovakia after one of the three convoys suffered a collision in the Czech Republic, the NL Times reported.
Five vehicles from the unit collided with each other in the Czech Republic due to poor visibility and slippery roads, the NL Times added. No injuries were reported.
Four of the five vehicles were so badly damaged in the pile-up that they can no longer be used.
However, according to the defence ministry, the accident did not affect the unit’s planned deployment to reinforce the eastern flank of the NATO area because no missile launch systems were involved, NL Times wrote.
The unit arrived in Slovakia at around midnight on Saturday, while the other two arrived earlier in the evening (16 April).
This unit is one of the three convoys bringing the Dutch Patriot anti-aircraft systems from Limburg to Slovakia.
