    AND eindelijk weer in het nieuws en met de nieuwe CEO weer op het goede pad. Ondanks slechte dag alle vertrouwen dat cijfers maar bovenal verwachtingen aanzienlijk beter zijn voor dit bedrijf.

    Na paar dagen van mooie stijgingen was een dagje winst nemen te verwachten. Misschien laatste uurtjes weer voor de kopers en dag voor de cijfers weer een dikke 10% hoger en donderdag op basis van cijfers waar 5 euro of meer.

    Daar moeten toch kansen liggen en als ze daar niet van mee kunnen profiteren. Cijfers kunnen deze keer toch niet slecht zijn als ze 16 mei melden dat het goed gaat qua inkomsten en de kosten aanzienlijk lager liggen.

    Bedoel als ze daar niet van kunnen mee profiteren zijn ze ons vertrouwen en geld ook niet meer waard.

We have started developing structure and content to support our new direction to become a provider of location-aware content that fosters a safer, more sustainable world. Initial discussions with our long-standing customers and new prospects indicate that there is a developing need for such highly tailored content. As part of our internal transformation program; which addresses a stronger product portfolio, we have been hiring new key talents in our office in Capelle a/d IJssel to support the development of this content as well as new APIs. This first half year of 2019, we re-establish our map production operations, significantly improving its efficiency by engaging with an external partner.”

    In June, AND completed and delivered another full HD Map to a subsidiary of a large European Automotive OEM, while continuing to improve the maturity of the MapFusion technology.

    The TalkingMaps project, announced in 2018, which aims with MapFusion technology to automatically improve, update and enrich map and location-content, has passed first milestones this half year, and will continue in supporting the development of AND’s MapFusion technology further in the years to come.

    In July, AND re-launched its website www.and.com , showing the new logo, design and direction the company is taking to a larger audience. The refreshed design has been taken positively by the community. AND will continue developing its website as an additional digital channel via which AND’s content can be discovered and purchased.

    The collaboration with DDS (Digital Data Services GmbH) in Germany is progressing well. Parties have agreed, as a first step, to jointly create and update the school database of Germany, used mainly by marketing companies to control their advertising.

    Neighbourhood Evaluator
    • Neighbourhood ratings based on amenities, housing prices, family suitability, crime, sustainability, education and employment
    • Absolute rating from 0 to 100 per neighbourhood
    • Overall rating can be weighted by preference and/or priority
    • Uniform model across whole country
    • Matched to AND network
    • Available for the Netherlands later this month

    Noise Pollution Map
    • Detailed, proprietary noise pollution model based on EU recognised CNOSSOS
    • Includes sources such as traffic, industry and people in public locations
    • Comprehensive noise level maps incorporating terrain and buildings
    • Can be combined with Neighbourhood Evaluator
    • Evaluation of buildings by floor is possible
    • Netherlands evaluation samples available at the end of September

    Time Distance Matrix v. 1.1 API
    • Three average speed options (night, day and rush hours) based on historical data
    • Fast asynchronous, easy to use API
    • No usage restrictions
    • Large matrices on request (max. dimension 1 million cells – e.g. 1000×1000 or 100×10.000)
    • Compatible with both AND and OSM maps
    • Available later this month

    Als ik de nieuwe CEO goed beluister, dan zou AND wel eens kunnen stoppen met HD-maps, wat ik niet erg zou vinden, want ik acht AND niet de juiste partij voor HD-maps.

    Ik weet trouwens nog een paar mooie nieuwe projecten voor AND: fijnstof- en stikstof-vervuiling.

    Dan kan iedereen zien in welke omgeving men woont of gaat gaat wonen.
