    ArcelorMittal resumes selling steel to Russia from Kazakhstan

    ArcelorMittal (NYSE:MT) said on Friday it had resumed steel supplies to Russia from its ArcelorMittal Temirtau mill in Kazakhstan, Reuters reports.

    The world's second largest steelmaker said it is in full compliance with Western sanctions imposed on Russia, which do not ban steel exports to the country.

    "Having given very careful consideration to the situation, sales of basic products from AMT to Russia were resumed as the only alternative to protect the viability of the mill and the livelihood of its 35,000 employees," the company said.

    Before the war in Ukraine began, ArcelorMittal (MT) supplied more than 150K metric tons/month; in 2021, the company sold steel products worth $1.6B to Russia.

    ArcelorMittal (MT) shares recently traded at YTD lows as commodity prices plunged.

    Op basis van deze nieuwe koersdoelen mag je er vanuit gaan (een tijdelijke opwelling van optimisme niet meegerekend) € 22,xx de nieuwe top is. Je mag hopen dat de € 20-bodem stand houdt.

    In die maanden toch nog aardig wat van geprofiteerd met calls en puts.

    Jaarrendement gekelderd van 48 naar 22%.
    Nog 5 optieseries AM calls van €23 tot 26 (jul tm dec)
    een call Fugro december13 (-36%)
    en een put Flowtraders sep 26 (+125%)

    Mittal is lastig timen voorlopig, een goede trade van +500 wordt gevolgd door eentje van - 500. Een lange positie met 100 calls innemen staat me nog tegen op het moment, al lijkt de koers hier wel te bodemen. Een overtuigend 22+ slot geeft wat meer perspectief voor mijn gevoel

    ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Warns Over Increase in Railway Tariffs

    Interfax Ukraine reported that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has warned Ukraine's government about the threat of a shutdown due to a 70% increase in railway tariffs. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in a 5 July letter to Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Ms Yulia Svyrydenko said that due to the increase in railway tariffs by 70%, the functioning of the enterprise was under threat. The letter said “We had to make a number of difficult decisions in order to balance the issue of the physical safety of workers and our desire to increase export volumes, which provide foreign exchange earnings to the economy and the survival of our enterprise. Due to the decision of the Ministry of Infrastructure to increase railway tariffs from 1 July 2022 as well as the continued blocking of Black Sea ports logistics costs have increased by 400%. At the same time, prices for metal products on world markets fell by more than USD 300 per tonne and for iron ore concentrate by more than USD 40 per tonne.”

    ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih wrote “We see this increase in railway tariffs as a significant threat to the operation of our enterprise, our ability to function, provide jobs and replenish state and local budgets.”

    ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih administration is urging the government to find a balanced solution.

    ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, after the commissioning of blast furnace No 6, converter and rolling shops in April-June of this year, began to export steel and unprecedented volumes of iron ore concentrate. As a result, about 650,000 tonnes of products were sold in June, including 200,000 tonnes of metal products and 450,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate.

    ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is the largest producer of rolled steel in Ukraine. It specializes in production of long products, in particular rebar and wire rod.

    ff wachten tot die russen de complete gastoevoer afsluiten naar de EU. Dan ver onder de 21 en inslaan, zou mooi zijn als ie ooit nog eens bij de 16 in de buurt komt.
