HelloFresh dropped its midterm targets after it said it expects earnings to fall this year due to the expansion in production capacity, investments in new fulfillment centers and high marketing costs.
The German meal-kit maker said late Thursday that adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization—the company’s preferred measure of profitability—should range between 350 million euros and 400 million euros ($383.2 million – $438 million) this year.

The forecast is below analysts’ EUR568 million estimate and adjusted Ebitda of EUR448 million that HelloFresh reported for 2023, according to preliminary figures.
HelloFresh is also targeting constant-currency revenue growth between 2% and 8% this year compared with analysts’ forecast of 7.1%. For 2023, HelloFresh posted revenue of roughly EUR7.60 billion, representing constant-currency growth of about 2.8%.
“Given the very different operating environment compared to the time when the company had first set its mid-term targets, the management board of the company re-evaluated the mid-term business plan and concluded on that basis today that it would be unlikely that the HelloFresh Group would reach its previously announced mid-term ambition,” the company said.
HelloFresh had targeted EUR10 billion in revenue and EUR1 billion in adjusted Ebitda by 2025.
The group will publish its 2023 annual report on March 15.
