www.constructiondigital.com/under_con...Blow for BAM as Google's London HQ heads to re-tender
The Dutch company is reportedly no longer involved in the King's Cross project which is under review by the tech giant along with all its new worldwide developments and could double in cost

BAM is reported to have left Google’s ambitious UK Headquarters project in King’s Cross London.
The Dutch company originally won the £300m contract to build the original design, announced last November, but it is understood to no longer be involved in the project, which is now expected to be re-tendered.
The search giant’s design review for its £650m UK headquarters at King Cross in London could take as long as two years to complete as Google reviews all of its new worldwide developments, plotting “multiple design strategies” for all major schemes.
The redesign is expected to be significantly larger, and could double the original the value of the scheme.
Architect Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, who designed the original 725,000 sq ft HQ plan, will be retained to rework the project, with cost consultant Gardiner & Theobald and engineer Waterman also expected to continue in their roles.
The London HQ is part of a larger 67-acre development scheme in the central King’s Cross area, one of Europe’s largest regeneration projects.
