   Stellar doet als ik het goed begrijp ongeveer het zelfde als Ripple.
   De kosten van een transactie worden zo klein, dat ik mij afvraag of er ooit iets met die digitale munten te verdienen is.
   Je moet juist bij de massa/consumenten zitten zodat er schaarste optreed.

   “The relationship with Bitstamp and launch of XRP volume incentives underscores our commitment to making XRP the institutional standard bearer for value transfer globally,” notes Miguel Vias, Head of XRP Markets at Ripple. “XRP is uniquely capable of introducing more liquidity to exchanges to support global payment volume, especially in exotic corridors. Ripple’s adoption with banks puts XRP in pole position to become a global settlement asset, which translates to more liquidity for Bitstamp, and more value for institutional and individual investors.”

   SBI Ripple Asia announced today that a consortium of 47 banks have successfully completed a pilot implementation of Ripple in Japan using a cloud-based payments platform. This platform, RC Cloud, is powered by Ripple’s solution and is the first in the world to enable real-time money transfers both domestically and internationally. As a result, the consortium has confirmed that it will move into commercial phase.

   Yoshikawa said she expects 10 to 20 more banks to join the consortium this year, which will bring the total number of members to between 50 and 60 — about 40 percent of all Japanese banks. The commercial phase of RC Cloud is expected to start in the fall of this year.

   Nog steeds is VOLKOMEN onduidelijk of de Ripple-valuta ook maar enig voordeel heeft van al die deals die Ripple Labs maakt.

    Het is inderdaad de vraag in hoeverre XRP gebruikt zal worden door deze banken. In principe kan het compleet zonder.
    Wat zeker positief is dat het Ripple protocol op dit moment dus wel een (van de) standaard(en) lijkt te worden binnen de financiele wereld.
    En mijn overtuiging is dat wanneer er grootschalig gebruik van het Ripple protocol gaat worden, dat een gedeelte ook via XRP gaat.
    Maar ben met je eens dat dit nog onzeker is. Maar dat is beleggen. Risk is hoog, maar potentieel Reward is nog vele malen hoger i.m.o.
    Maar dit is zeker (net zoals bitcoin) een speculatieve belegging.

    De marges bij overboekingen zijn ontzettend klein; geen enkele bank zal dus koersrisico willen lopen door gebruik te maken van Ripple-valuta.

    Zit inmiddels over de 100% rendement met Ethereum......
    Ik heb DeZwarteRidder wel eens horen zeggen dat het een waardeloze investering was...
    
    Dat Ripple daar heb ik ook nog steeds geen vertrouwen in, ben blij dat ik dat heb weg gedaan. Bij Waves en iO verwacht ik nog mooie koersontwikkelingen de komende 4 maanden.

    ze beginnen met een prive blockchain voor de ontwikkeling inderdaad, maar het is niet uitgesloten dat men op een gegeven moment over stapt of bruggen maakt tussen beide.
    Daar komt bij dat ze ethereum met geld en mankracht zullen ondersteunen om volwassen te worden.

    Waarom denk je dat ze met Ripple zijn gestopt? Voor zover ik weet zijn zijn ze alleen gestopt met R3/Corda.
    
    Santander en andere grote partijen zijn zover ik weet nog aan het testen (los van het japanse consortium):

    De grote banken willen op dit moment niet op 1 paard wedden, zolang niet duidelijk is wat uiteindelijk overblijft qua standaarden. Dus dat banken investeren in onderzoek naar Ethereum sluit voor mij Ripple of andere alternatieven niet uit.
