    Idd, blijft wel bizar.
    Overigens staat BMW in Duitsland nu 2% in de min. Het lijkt wel tegendraads, gisteren beter dan de dalende markt en vandaag slechter dan de stijgende markt. Heb jij een idee wat hiervan de reden is?

    Inmiddels krijgen ze bij VW ook door dat de verkopen minder gaan worden, alleen jammer een hele plant verhuis je niet zomaar naar de US.
    Wel mooi dat straks onze wegen weer met echt mooie auto's gevuld gaan worden, met gratis super comfort.

    WA roept het al langer de dollar gaat roet in de europese autobouw gooien.

    WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- The chief of Volkswagen AG's (VLKAY VOW.XE) U.S. unit said Friday that the German auto maker's plan to expand manufacturing and other operations in North America will combat any effect of the weak dollar on financial performance.
    Jonathan Browning, president and chief executive of Volkswagen Group of America Inc., pointed to the auto maker's plan to open a manufacturing plant in Chattanooga, Tenn., part of a $4 billion investment the auto maker is making in U.S. operations. Manufacturing cars in the U.S. will minimize the effect of the weak dollar on the company's bottom line, he said in an interview with Dow Jones Newswires.

    Da's mooi gedaan tijd om te gaan spreiden.

    Moet je het verhaal Fiat.Chrysler tot je nemen, Fiat ziet de bui allang hangen en is iedereen een slag voor.

    WA, zolang €/$ onder 1,50 blijft verwacht ik weinig problemen voor de duitse autofabrikanten. Die leveren vooral premium... bij hun klanten speelt koopprijs en ook benzineprijs een zeer ondergeschikte rol.
    Let er op dat de duitse fabrikanten ook in april met haar hoge €-koers allen weer ruim sneller groeiden dan de wereldautomarkt als geheel.
    Symptomatisch was dat, terwijl in China de markt als geheel in april licht kromp, BMW haar afzet daar met 61% wist te verhogen.
    We blijven dus goed letten op de maandelijkse verkoopcijfers.
    En aan de andere kant bieden deze wisselkoersen ook inkoopvoordelen / kostenbesparingen. Dat verklaart mede de winstexplosie zoals we die beleven.

    You never know...... Eind van dit jaar nog eens kijken. Ik zal de dividenden ook wel een beetje bijhouden, want sommigen hebben al uitbetaald en anderen gaan nog betalen. Zie poswting van Atitlan in deze draad.

    BMW en Siemens samen in elektrische auto

    DEN HAAG (AFN) - BMW en Siemens werken samen om vaart te zetten achter de ontwikkeling van de elektrische auto. In Nederland krijgt dat gestalte door een demonstratieproject in Den Haag, waar Mini's van BMW gebruik gaan maken van oplaadpalen van Siemens.

    Beide bedrijven ontwikkelden al een systeem om auto's draadloos op te laden, dat in Berlijn wordt getest. Siemens zorgde voor een spoel onder het wegdek die een magnetisch veld opwekt, en aan de onderkant van auto's zit een andere spoel die gebruikmaakt van het magnetische veld om de auto van stroom te voorzien. Dat lijkt ideaal voor taxistandplaatsen.

    Als het systeem verder is ontwikkeld, is het goed voor het razendsnel opladen van auto's op parkeerplaatsen bij supermarkten of mogelijk zelfs voor een rood verkeerslicht.

    Atitlan,

    Van berichten als bovenstaande kan ik nu echt genieten. Suzanne Klatten, jou ongetwijfeld ook niet onbekend doet het toch maar weer. Die vrouw roept toch allerlei associaties op na haar amoureuze affaire(s) waarbij ze zo smerig gechanteerd werd en bikkelhard terugsloeg. Maar uit verleden was bekend dat ze een bijzonder intelligente belegger is en zie nu weer bovenstaand verhaal.
    Als grootste aandeelhouder van BMW, uiteraard miljardaire, durft ze de strijd aan te gaan met Volkswagen-concern om de carbonvezelbedrijf dat de toekomst voor de betere autobedrijven betekent. VW koopt zich in tot 10 procent en ze slaat keihard terug door tot bijna dertig procent invloed te verwerven. En hoe doet ze dat? O.a.: Ze heeft de trucen bij Porsche/ Volkswagen blijkbaar ook goed bestudeerd. Door niet meteen aandelen te kopen, maar "Wandelanleihen". Slim hoor, heel slim: "Niemand"heeft iets in de gaten en ondertussen bouwt ze een dominante positie op. Precies een van de trucen die ze bij Porsche ook uitgehaald hadden om VW over te nemen.
    Hoe noemen ze dat ook al weer? "Koekje van eigen deeg" en van zo'n zakenverhaal kan ik genieten.

    Warm aanbevolen! En uiterard volgen, want stel je eens voor dat er een biedstrijd door BMW en VW om het carbonvezelbedrijf ontstaat......

    Peter, enkele maanden terug had ik het toevallig nog met een buurman, die ook actief belegger is, over de deal VW - SGL Carbon.
    VW is als de dood dat het op een veelbelovende technologie op achterstand t.o.v. BMW geraakt.
    Als VW ergens een belang in neemt, wordt dat altijd steeds groter... Herr Piech wil het immers overal en altijd helemaal alleen voor het zeggen hebben.
    Maar hier heeft hij in de families Quandt/Klatten en BMW wel erg geduchte tegenstanders. Zo geducht dat ik bij SGL voor de verandering geen overnamepoging van de zijde van Piech verwacht.

    BMW-Motorrad wächst gegen den Markttrend

    HAMBURG (dpa-AFX) - Die Motorradsparte des BMW (Profil)-Konzerns wächst gegen den allgemein rückläufigen Markttrend. "Wir werden einen historischen Rekord einfahren", kündigte Spartenchef Hendrik von Kuenheim für dieses Jahr im Gespräch mit der "Financial Times Deutschland" (FTD/Freitag) an. Rund 120.000 Maschinen der Marken BMW und Husqvarna sollen verkauft werden.

    Erdbeben hat japanische Autoindustrie gelähmt. Deutsche Autobauer gewinnen

    Das Erdbeben und der folgende Tsunami haben die Automobil- Produktion in Japan weitgehend lahmgelegt. Honda und Toyota meldeten für März Rückgänge von 63%. Bei Nissan liefen 52% weniger Autos vom Band als vor einem Jahr. Zwar haben die Konzerne die Schäden an den Fabriken weitgehend beseitigt und die Produktion wieder aufgenommen. Die Auslastung beträgt aber nur rund 50%. Zu schaffen machen den Herstellern die Zulieferer sowie Probleme bei der Stromversorgung.

    Teile aus Japan fehlen, trotzdem Rekordjahr

    In den ausländischen Werken haben sich fehlende Zulieferungen aus Japan erst im April und Mai bemerkbar gemacht. Die Aufregung ist aber übertrieben. Schließlich kann die Autoindustrie auf ein weiteres Rekordjahr hoffen. Die Kassen sind voll und die Nachfrage wächst weltweit. Da wiegen einige Tage Produktionsunterbrechung nicht besonders schwer. Schon im 1. Quartal steigerten alle hier besprochenen nicht-japanischen Hersteller ihren Umsatz, zum Teil sogar zweistellig.

    Deutschland dominiert in China

    Besonders in China laufen die Geschäfte hervorragend. Der Absatz der deutschen Hersteller ist dort im 1. Quartal deutlich schneller gewachsen als der Gesamtmarkt. Insgesamt legten die Autoverkäufe in China um 12% auf 3,1 Mio zu. Die deutschen Marken erhöhten dagegen ihren Absatz um 30% auf 638.000 Fahrzeuge und haben ihren Marktanteil von 18 auf 20% verbessert. Der VW-Konzern kam auf einen Absatzzuwachs von 20% auf 548.700 Fahrzeuge, Daimler verkaufte mit 48.900 Autos 80% mehr. China ist damit für unsere Branchenfavoriten ein wichtigerer Absatzmarkt als Deutschland und vor Brasilien der bedeutendste Produktionsstandort.

    China Drives Porsche to Record as Buyers Wait for Cayenne

    Liu Yirong walked into Porsche SE’s Shanghai dealership planning to buy the carmaker’s $137,000 Cayenne sport-utility vehicle. He left with a coffee-colored 911 Carrera sports car instead.

    “I wanted a Cayenne but there weren’t any available,” said the 32-year-old Liu, who works in the chemical industry. “They said I have to wait two years.”

    Chinese customers ordering a Cayenne with a 3.0-liter engine wait an average of 15 months for delivery, the longest for the vehicle globally. Porsche forecasts record 2011 deliveries globally as China sales grow 35 percent, putting the Asian nation on track to overtake the U.S. as its largest market in 2014, said Helmut Broeker, the automaker’s head of China.

    Porsche, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) and Daimler AG (DAI)’s Mercedes-Benz all posted four-month sales increases in China exceeding 30 percent as rising numbers of wealthy Chinese seek out German luxury cars as status symbols. The gains are outpacing a slowing overall market, which advanced 8.1 percent in the first quarter, the weakest in two years.

    “Chinese consumers are becoming increasingly brand savvy and Porsche is a very potent brand,” said Tim Urquhart, a senior analyst at industry consultant IHS Automotive in London.

    German luxury carmakers are banking on China to help boost profit as higher demand in the country for premium goods means they can charge more for their vehicles. The most basic Cayenne model costs 893,000 yuan ($137,000) in China, while its closest competitor, BMW’s X6 SUV, starts at 1.05 million yuan. Both vehicles sell in China at more than double the U.S. price.

    Matching Make-Up
    Porsche, which is in the process of merging with Volkswagen AG (VOW), said last month first-quarter operating profit at the auto- making unit more than doubled to 496 million euros ($695 million) on demand for the Cayenne, its best-selling model. The carmaker aims to sell more than 100,000 cars for the first time this year and double global deliveries by 2018 to 200,000.

    Porsche has been tailoring cars and marketing activities to Chinese tastes to lock in more buyers. Cup holders have been replaced by half-liter bottle holders after the company noticed Chinese buyers with such containers. The carmaker created a new color called “China Pink” after a customer in Chongqing wanted her Cayman painted the same shade as her make-up, said Jan Kuppen, Porsche’s China product manager.

    Mongolian Lake
    It also spent four days transporting its Boxster, Carrera and 911 models to a frozen lake in Inner Mongolia in March to allow buyers to test drive them on snow. The drivers sped down a solid ice lake, throwing up ice clouds in their trail.

    The added attention will help lift China to about a quarter of Porsche’s deliveries in 2014, up from 15 percent now, Broeker said in an interview in Beijing. The automaker targets record sales this year in China of more than 20,000 vehicles after boosting 2010 deliveries on the mainland 63 percent.

    “The Cayenne came in 2003 when the market was just taking off,” Broeker said on May 21. “It was the right product at the right time. We also found a lot of customers enjoyed a higher ride in the car in the busy streets of Beijing and Shanghai because you have a much better view of the traffic situation.”

    The 3.0-liter engine used in the carmaker’s Chinese model is in short supply because the factory which makes the motor, which is used as well in other Volkswagen group SUVs sold in China, can’t keep up with the demand. Porsche is working on ways to ramp up production and reduce the waiting time for the Cayenne to six-to-nine months by the end of 2011, Broeker said.

    More Dealerships
    Porsche plans to triple its dealer network in China to about 100 from 33 by 2018 at the latest. The carmaker will inaugurate 10 dealerships a year, with openings in smaller cities such as Ordos in the northern Chinese province of Inner Mongolia, and Haikou on Hainan Island in 2011.

    Luxury-car sales in China will rise 20 percent this year after surging 48 percent to 459,000 vehicles last year, according to industry researcher JD Power & Associates. Total deliveries in 2010 grew 32 percent to 18.1 million vehicles, surpassing the U.S. for a second year.

    Porsche, maker of the 911 sports car and four-door Panamera, may consider producing a planned small SUV called the Cajun in China in the future.

    “You need 25,000 cars of one model alone to make it a viable business case,” Broeker said. “One that could be considered definitely would be the small Cayenne, the Cajun.”

    The Cayenne’s popularity may also have a negative impact if the carmaker doesn’t shorten waiting times. Tony Tian and his three business partners dropped by the company’s dealership along Shanghai’s busy Nanjing Street in search of a company car.

    “It’s a powerful car and the exterior looks very professional,” said Tian, who spent about 20 minutes checking out the yellow Cayenne on display in the store. Even though the Cayenne was their first choice, the four were unlikely to wait and would buy BMW’s X6 SUV instead, the stout 32-year-old said.

    “I’m not disappointed,” said Tian. “There are still a lot of choices out there.”
