    Spyker-dochter Saab verdubbelt Zweedse verkopen in september

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Autofabrikant Saab, onderdeel van Spyker Cars nv (SPYKR.AE), heeft in september op de Zweedse markt 1.022 auto's verkocht, ruim 106% meer dan in dezelfde periode een jaar eerder.

    Daarnaast meldt de autofabrikant dat de verkopen in de eerste negen maanden van 2010 het aantal verkopen over dezelfde periode in 2009 overtreffen. Exacte data ontbreken in het persbericht.

    Tot slot meldt het concern een verdere stijging van de verkoop te voorzien.

    Eerder in de week werd bekend dat Saab voor zijn nieuwe modellen viercilinder benzinemotoren van BMW ag (BMW.XE) gaat kopen.

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--In een week waarin beleggers het kruit droog hielden in verband met het einde van het kwartaal en zorgen over de schuldproblemen in de eurozone de stemming bleven bepalen, moest de AEX een verlies nemen. Akzo Nobel kon beleggers niet imponeren met de nieuwe strategische doelen en hoorde bij de verliezers van de week, terwijl de koers van autobouwer Spyker juist omhoog spoot na een deal die de dochteronderneming Saab sloot met BMW.


    SPYKER SCHIET OMHOOG DOOR OVEREENKOMST MET BMW

    De week was nog niet begonnen of het aandeel Spyker Cars nv (SPYKR.AE) stond al ruim hoger op de Amsterdamse beurs. Reden was berichtgeving van de NOS, die maandagochtend een deal tussen Saab en BMW aankondigde.

    Saab, sinds begin dit jaar eigendom van Spyker, zou technologie van BMW gaan overnemen. De deal zou twee dagen later, op woensdag, bekrachtigd worden.

    Spyker bevestigde maandag in gesprek te zijn met BMW, maar noemde een overeenkomst nog "veel te prematuur". Toch won het aandeel maandag ruim 60%.

    "Het aandeel was afgeslacht tot helemaal niks", zegt analist Tom Muller van Theodoor Gilissen Bankiers. "Beleggers kunnen makkelijk eens een gokje nemen."

    Daarnaast brengt samenwerking met BMW fantasie in het aandeel zegt Muller. "Misschien leidt het tot een belangname of overname."

    Zoals verwacht werd de overeenkomst inderdaad woensdag aangekondigd. Spyker koopt benzinemotoren van BMW, die vanaf 2012 in de nieuwe Saab 9-3 moeten worden gebruikt.

    Topman Victor Muller van Spyker sprak tegenover Dow Jones van een "ongelooflijk belangrijke" deal en "een mijlpaal" voor Saab.

    Financiele details werden niet bekendgemaakt, maar volgens de Spyker CEO betreft het "honderdduizenden" motoren.

    Saab werd begin dit jaar overgenomen door Spyker en was onder de vorige eigenaar, General Motors Corp (GM), al jaren verlieslatend. Victor Muller verwacht dat Saab in 2012 weer winst maakt.

    Om dat doel te bereiken, zal volgens analist Tom Muller wel de productie omhoog moeten. "Alles valt of staat met het aantal geproduceerde auto's", aldus Muller.

    Uiteindelijk won het aandeel Spyker afgelopen week 62,5%.

    Saab 9-5 SportEstate komt zomer 2011

    parijs - Het officiële publieksdebuut van de Saab 9-5 SportEstate staat gepland voor de Autosalon van Geneve, zo maakte de autobouwer aan De Telegraaf bekend. De levering start vervolgens enkele maanden later.

    De SportEstate komt iets later dan de eveneens fonkelnieuwe 9-4X op de markt. Saab lanceert die grote SUV in april. De auto wordt overigens al in november op de autoshow in Los Angeles gepresenteerd. Saab bouwt de 9-4X als enige model buiten Zweden. In Mexico om precies te zijn. Reden is de nauwe verwantschap met de Cadillac SRX en de verwachte afzetmogelijkheden in de Verenigde Staten.

    Leuk dat ze dat ding laten zien, maar de 'normale' Aileron is nog geeneens in productie. Laat staan dat de Spyder dus al wordt gebouwd.

    Wat daar staat is een of ander prototype zonder motor.

    Trollhättan, Sweden: Saab Automobile is continuing to enhance its international sales organization by setting up Saab Australia, a new, wholly-owned subsidiary company responsible for operations in Australia and New Zealand. Transitioning over the coming months, it will assume all marketing, sales and distribution responsibilities from GM Holden Ltd, following the purchase of Saab Automobile from General Motors by Spyker Cars N.V. of the Netherlands seven months ago.

    The new subsidiary will be responsible for supplying and maintaining national networks of dealers, including existing Saab dealerships and new outlets, in Australia and New Zealand. The existing dealer network will continue to serve customers during the transition period.

    Saab UK houdt uitverkoop? Blijkbaar moeten ze alle auto's die ze vorige maand alvast op kenteken hebben gezet snel slijten...

    Saab in talks with BMW, others on 92 model

    NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Saab is in talks with BMW AG and other automakers to use their underpinnings for the proposed 92 entry-premium model, the head of Saab owner Spyker Cars NV said on Wednesday.

    Saab also has carmakers, including Asian players, interested in potential licensing of the platform for its new 9-3 lower-premium model, Spyker CEO Victor Muller said.

    "We're in constant dialogue with a number of players to share the (9-3) technology. There are parties that are interested in talking about possible licensing of the technology," Muller told Reuters in an interview.

    "Every boardroom of every carmaker now has one major concern; How can I drive my breakeven point down? The quickest fix is to sell and share your technology because it's already been paid for," he said.

    In return, Saab is talking to BMW and others about getting their platforms to make a car below the 9-3, such as the proposed 92, which isn't included in the company's business plan. The car's design would emulate the teardrop shape of the original 1949-56 model.

    "Clearly we have a preference, but whether it's BMW, I can't tell you," Muller said. "BMW would make a wonderful partner."

    Spyker struck a deal with BMW last month under which BMW will supply four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engines for the new-generation Saab 9-3 starting in 2012.

    The deal will help Spyker, which wants to sell 120,000 cars a year starting 2012, get new technology despite its negative shareholder equity value when liabilities surpassed assets in June.

    Muller said he is "pretty confident" that Spyker will meet its forecasts for selling 45,000 units this year and 80,000 units in 2011.

    Het gebeurt niet vaak dat een nieuw model dertien jaar op zich laat wachten. Het Zweedse Saab had er een goede reden voor: het merk was de afgelopen jaren op sterven na dood. De Saab 9-5 is daarom een teken van leven, of beter gezegd van overleven.

    Eigenlijk komt de 9-5 te vroeg. Kort voordat Saab bekendmaakte voortaan techniek van BMW te gaan inkopen, stond het nieuwe topmodel al in de showrooms. Volgens Victor Muller, met zijn Spyker Cars nv de nieuwe eigenaar van Saab, bestaat er geen betere motorenfabriek dan die van BMW. Maar ja, deze auto is nog onder supervisie van General Motors ontwikkeld en daar komt bijna al zijn techniek vandaan.

    Weer zo'n mooi voorbeeld. Die productie was vorig jaar al overgeheveld aldus Muller. Nu blijken ze nog steeds niet up and running. Oftewel ze hebben nu al ruim een jaar geen enkele Spyker geproduceerd...

    Bij Saab maken ze de verwachtingen ook al niet waar en gaan ze dealerauto's op kenteken zetten in de voornaamste markten om de cijfers op te poetsen. Dat doen ze niet omdat het zo goed gaat, die 9-5 verkoopt namelijk niet.

    Luxury car maker Spyker 'committed' to Coventry plant

    Luxury sports car production will still go ahead in Coventry, despite more than six months of delays, a Dutch car firm has said.

    Spyker said in February that it planned to relocate its assembly line within weeks from the Netherlands to Coventry, creating up to 45 new jobs.

    It said the 20,000 sq ft plant at CPP Manufacturing in Whitley would help it raise production levels and cut costs.

    It said "unforeseen" events had delayed plans but it was committed to Coventry.

    A CPP spokesman said: "CPP continues to work closely with Spyker and we are now ramping up production of the C8 Aileron luxury supercar, every one of which will be made here in Coventry.
    'Extraordinary developments'

    "The vast majority of the tooling, equipment and parts are now in place at CPP.

    "The arrival of Spyker production in Coventry remains an exciting long-term investment in the world-class engineering and production sectors in the city."

    Wicher Kist, chief operations officer at Spyker Cars, said: "There have been some unforeseen, extraordinary developments at Spyker over the last nine months which have impacted on our ability to progress as swiftly as we had originally planned.

    "However, I can't stress strongly enough that everyone involved in this project, our colleagues at CPP, the Spyker team here in the UK and in The Netherlands, are absolutely committed to ramping up production of the Spyker C8 Aileron in Coventry as quickly as possible."

    The firm refused to comment on what the "extraordinary developments" were.

    The Whitley plant aims to produce five Spyker Aileron supercars per week.

    10 februari 2010: Full scale production, tuurlijk. En die deal was eind november 2009 aangekondigd. Verder gaven ze eind 2009 en begin 2010 aan dat er zo weinig verkoop was omdat de productie werd verhuisd. Nu blijkt dat nog steeds niet zo te zijn.

    Spykerhard liegen, kan er niks anders van maken.

    "But yesterday was about celebrating full scale production of Spykers at CPP, and Victor Muller and Spyker Chairman Vladimir Antonov joined CPP’s MD Brendan O’Toole to celebrate the deal."

    Ze liegen er idd redelijk hard op los bij Spyker. Was ook wel verbaasd toen ik dit artikel las:

    Een Nederlandse Saabdealer die half oktober eindelijk zijn eerste(!) nieuwe 9-5 heeft afgeleverd. Die dingen moeten al sinds juli uitgeleverd worden. Klanten moeten in de rij staan om die dingen op te pikken. Het is verontrustend dat er nu pas een eerste auto wordt afgeleverd aan een klant.

    En vandaag is natuurlijk ook de nieuwe Saab 9-4X onthuld. Deze auto is nog ontwikkeld in de GM periode en daarom ook het tweelingbroertje van de Cadillac SRX. Beide modellen worden in Mexico gebouwd. De SRX is al geruime tijd op de markt, maar de productie van de 9-4X zal pas in april 2011 starten. En pas in juli/augustus zullen de eerste exemplaren bij dealers staan.

    Er komt geen diesel beschikbaar en dit model is dus feitelijk kansloos in Europa. In de VS maakt het wellicht een kans.
