   Als Amerika en Noord-Korea elkaar aanvallen met kernbommen dan is de waarde van jouw aandeel wel het laatste waar je aan denkt. Dus wat dat betreft ben ik niet zo bang voor een correctie dankzij Noord-Korea. Ik zie eerder een domino-effect gebeuren wanneer Bitcoin crasht.

   Natuurlijk zijn er mensen die dit bagetaliseren en of denken dat tomtom hierdoor overgenomen gaat worden.    Dit laat toch alleen maar zien dat TomTom in het heetste segment zit? Er zijn genoeg patenten waardoor TomTom een verleidelijke overnamepartij is. Maar het bestuur wil dat op het moment niet omdat er zoveel meer potentie is, pas als blijkt dat de potentie niet te halen valt dan zal TomTom in de verkoop worden gezet en alsnog voor een mooi bedrag verkocht worden.
   
   Het zou mij pas zorgen baren als Apple/Google ineens geen tijd meer zou besteden aan haar Maps divisie.

   Ik ben weer opbouwend na mijn gedeeltelijke verkoop in het voorjaar. Juli en augustus zijn mooie maanden om de voorraden weer aan te vullen. Het Tomtom perscentrum is in Juli en Augustus niet bemand denk ik. In september gaan we weer los met persberichten. Komende week gaan ik nog 1 of 2 plukjes bijkopen. Mogelijk dat Trump en Kim het aandeel nog een zetje terug geven. Aankopen onder de 8,50 zou me wel passen gezien mijn gemiddelde aankoop nu.

   Een terugtest van het 200 daags gemiddelde (paars) zit er komende tijd nog wel in, denk ik.
   200 daags gemiddelde gister 8,594. Kan dus terug getest worden zonder dat de stijgende trend verlaten wordt. Zie 6 maanden grafiek.

   Als de trend van vrijdag doorgezet kan worden, denk ik niet dat we daar geraken. Alleen als er een oorlog mocht komen, dan wel. Hoop dat we maandag, bij een rustig weekend, de trend omhoog weer kunnen oppakken richting de 9 euro....succes!

   Ik geloof niet dat een van beide heren een oorlog zal beginnen door als eerste een raket af te vuren.
   Maar zeker weten doe je dat nou ook weer niet. De lancering van de raketten voor Guam staan op de agenda voor dinsdag. Gezien de tijdverschillen zitten we wel tot woensdag in spanning, dus de beurzen zullen niet veel stijgen verwacht ik de komende week.

   Ik denk in dit geval dat China wel duidelijk zal maken, dit niet te doen.....america zal zeker niet zomaar beginnen, alleen als kim het wel gaat doen....

    Microsoft to power Baidu’s self-driving project outside of China

    Microsoft has agreed to power Baidu’s open source self-driving project outside of China, adding its Azure cloud infrastructure to the growing list of resources connected to the project.
    
    Baidu announced its intention to open source the project, named Apollo, in April. It has since signed up leading Chinese car manufacturers Chery Auto and Great Wall Motors, alongside TomTom, popular Asian ride-sharing service Grab, Bosch, Continental, and Intel.

    “Today’s vehicles already have an impressive level of sophistication when it comes to their ability to capture data,” Kevin Dallas, corporate vice president at Microsoft, said in a statement. “By applying our global cloud AI, machine learning, and deep neural network capabilities to that data, we can accelerate the work already being done to make autonomous vehicles safer.”
    
    No cars anytime soon
    Microsoft has said that while it doesn’t intend to build cars anytime soon, it would like to be involved in the software and services areas. Supplying cloud services to cars could be a valuable industry, especially as the car moves from strictly transport to an entertainment and work area.
    
    Redmond already supplies in-car entertainment services to automakers, but with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay seeing more installs every year, its days look numbered. It will need to look for more opportunities in the market, possibly supplying artificial intelligence to cars.
    
    Baidu has spent most of its time building the self-driving software in China but has cars and a facility in the United States. The company has said it wants its software on the roads by next year, although that is unlikely with the current regulations

    A source from Mobileye did tell Driverless that Cruise's test cars do not have Mobileye cameras or Intel CPUs in its driverless platforms, so it must be using components from other suppliers or making its own in-house.
    
    Interessant in het licht van de hoge relatieve positie van GM in SDC-vergelijkingsrapporten en die opmerking in the Economist dat GM en Ford veel hebben geïnvesteerd in hun samenwerking met TomTom.

    Hyundai Motor Company to Apply HD Map to Self-Driving Cars That Will Be Used during 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics
    
    High-precision 3D map (HD Map) with less than 10 cm of margin of error will be used for self-driving cars that will be going in Pyeongchang and has the world’s best margin of error. It is more accurate than sensor-based self-driving cars and supports safe driving.
    According to South Korean Government and industries on the 8th, Hyundai MNsoft is currently working on ultra-high-precision HD Map that will be used for self-driving cars, which will be in operation during 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics that is going to be held in February of 2018. It is going to finish gathering data shortly and complete developing systems that will supplement driving for self-driving cars.
    Hyundai Motor Company’s HD Map is a high-precision 3D map for self-driving cars that includes actual road information such as location of roads, marks on roads, width, curvature, information on slopes, signals, and signs. It will be applied first to self-driving shuttles that will be going back and forth between Seoul and Pyeongchang and self-driving cars that will be going around main stadiums in Pyeongchang.
    Hyundai MNsoft is currently collecting 3D data of highways and national highways with data-collecting vehicles that are equipped with high-precision radars and LiDARs (Light Detection and Ranging). These vehicles collect topographic information by shooting hundreds of thousands of laser beam strands in a second. 3D map that shows crooked roads and difference of elevation can be made since images that are captured by 4 digital cameras that take 200 pictures per second by turning 360 and level of slope that is measured by IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) are implemented through CG (Computer Graphic).
    HD Map decreased margin of error from 20 to 30 meters, which was margin of error for previous maps, to les than 10 cm through high-precision GPC technology. Its accuracy is really high that it even makes self-parking possible. It makes accurate driving possible by having map services provided in units of roads and this is identical to recent technologies such as HERE and TomTom that are put out by global map service providers. HD Map can even provide navigation that corresponds to current conditions as it interworks with Clouding service and is applied with real-time traffic information.

    The hack was devised by a group of researchers from the University of Washington that explained that an attacker can print stickers and attach them on a few road signs to deceive “most” autonomous cars into misinterpreting road signs when they are altered by placing stickers or posters.
    
    The sign alterations in the test performed by the researcher were very small, even if they can go unnoticed by humans, the algorithm used by the camera’s software interpreted the road sign in a wrong way.

    The problem affects the image recognition system used by most self-driving car cars as explained in a research paper, titled “Robust Physical-World Attacks on Machine Learning Models.”
    “Given these real world challenges, an attacker should be able to account for the above changes in physical conditions while computing perturbations, in order to successfully physically attack existing road sign classifiers. In our evaluation methodology, we focus on three major components that impact
    how a road sign is classified by, say, a self-driving car. ” reads the paper.
    
    The experts demonstrated different tricks to interfere with the mechanisms implemented in modern self-driving cars to read and classify road signs, just using a color printer and a camera.
    
    In the Camouflage Graffiti Attack, the experts added simply stickers with the words “Love” and “Hate” onto a “STOP” sign. The autonomous car’s image-detecting algorithms were not able to distinguish the road signs and interpreted them as Speed Limit 45 sign in 100 percent of test cases.

    A similar camouflage was tested on a RIGHT TURN sign and the cars wrongly classified it as a STOP sign in 66 percent of the cases.
    
    The researchers also tried a Camouflage Abstract Art Attack by applying smaller stickers onto a STOP road sign. In this way, the camouflage interferes with the car systems that interpreted the road sign as a street art in 100 percent of the time.
    “Our attack reports a 100% success rate for misclassification with 66.67% of the images classified as a Stop sign and 33.7% of the images classified as an Added Lane sign. It is interesting to note that in only 1 of the test cases was the Turn Right in the top two classes.” reads the paper. “In most other cases, a different warning sign was present. We hypothesize that given the similar appearance of warning signs, small perturbations are sufficient to confuse the classifier. In future work, we plan to explore this hypothesis with targeted classification attacks on other warning signs.”
    
    The experts did not reveal the manufacturer whose self-driving car they used in their tests, anyway their research demonstrates the importance to improve safety and security of such kind of vehicles.

    Apple increased its R&D investment to $2.94 billion in the third quarter of 2017, around 6.5 percent of the company’s total sales in the quarter. It is a large advancement on the past years, and shows Apple has a few things big planned in the coming years.
    
    The most talked about, at least by Apple executives, is augmented reality. At WWDC 2017, it announced ARkit, a new SDK for developers to build mixed reality apps on iPhone and iPad. IKEA is one of the launch partners on iOS 11, turning its entire catalogue to highly realistic 3D images.

    A patent for mixed reality glasses, able to pull real-time data on points of interest, show the potential next step for Apple. CEO Tim Cook said AR could be as big as the smartphone in an interview with The Independent, and reports suggest it is turning into a passion project for the company.
    
    The company is moving into AR at a critical time, with Google relaunching Glass as a tool for workers and companies like HP, Microsoft, and Intel all launching hardware and software dedicated to mixed reality.
    
    Self-driving is reportedly one of the biggest projects inside Apple, although some say the company has curtailed the scope in the past few months. Originally, reports said Apple was working on the complete solution: hardware, software, and services, but after a change up in leadership it has apparently moved towards the software side.
    
    In interviews, the firm’s executives have hinted that cars are but one part of automation, leading people to believe it is looking into drones, pods, or new types of transport. That said, the company recently received a license to test three self-driving cars in California.
    
    Other major investments, outside of the normal iPhone, iPad, Mac lineup, possibly include wearables that pass FDA approval. Fitbit and Jawbone, two of the first major wearable brands, are both pivoting to the health industry, Apple is expected to follow suit.
